Omega II is the “original” North American manufacturer who in 1992 introduced to the market a fresh new style of fencing systems. Since then, we can count thousands of projects and millions of linear feet enhancing the image of landscaping projects throughout North America and beyond.
Omega II is now proud to introduce the OMEGA VERTICAL GRATING - a line of electro-fused steel panels for fencing, infill panels, louvers, sunscreens and trellises. With a European flare, the OMEGA VERTICAL GRATING is available for architects to incorporate a modern design using a variety of patterns and possibilities. For nearly 40 years the IRONSMITH name has been associated with innovation in the tree grate market. IRONSMITH tree grates were the first to feature opening less than ½”, creating the “ pedestrian friendly” tree grate a decade before the Americans with Disabilities Act. With the passage of the ADA in 1991, IRONSMITH removed all grates with openings over ½” from the product line and focused on small slot grates-creating an industry standard, while others in the industry still have large opening grates in their line.
When landscape professionals began to focus on optimizing urban tree survivability by allocating more space for trees, IRONSMITH was there, creating the largest grates available. When clients were looking for a solution to bright red rust on cast iron, IRONSMITH found an economical, environmentally friendly solution that they shared with the industry so all could benefit-regardless of who they purchased their grates from. IRONSMITH has championed the Paver-Grate system and brought it to an international audience.
Integrating trees into the pedestrian environment and providing creative drainage solutions are the main focus of our business. Because we are so focused, we can offer a wide range of solutions to help trees and people live in harmony in the urban landscape.
